Interchangeability of “Inners” and “Minors”

In this paper the concept of interchangeability of inners and principal minors is developed for the Hurwitz problem and for the aperiodicity condition simplifying the existing criteria. The connection between the inners and Lyapunov’s method for aperiodic linear continuous system is further elaborated and utilized. The application of the inners to absolute stability is also discussed. A critical view of the inner matrix representation as compared to the symmetric matrix formulation is presented.
