Abstract

This paper discusses the possibility of the existence of extended Lyapunov functions for stability studies in dynamical systems with product-type nonlinear feedback. Stability criteria for the system are given, which introduce extended Lyapunov functions. The method developed in the paper is applied to a van der Pol-type nonlinear system. The superiority of the function proposed is illustrated by numerical examples.
